What to Expect When You Attend Our Concerts

How long do the shows last?

The concerts last 2-3 hours with no intermission. Sometimes the artists choose to perform longer, but every show will last for a minimum of 2 hours.

Where are the events within the Occidental Campus?

The events are held at Herrick Chapel on Occidental College Campus, which is near the college’s main entrance at Campus Road and Armadale Avenue. Once you park (see parking maps below), walk straight past the futuristic fountain - which is famous from Star Trek 4! - then turn right towards the library. Look for the stained glass entrance on the upper level of Herrick Chapel.

Where do I park?

On the weekends there is ample free parking at Occidental College, there is a map below. The closest lots to Herrick Chapel are the main parking lot or the parking lot behind the library. Those with limited mobility may want to park in the lot behind the library for easier accessibility- there are some handicap spots available there. Street parking is also available on Campus Road.

What can I expect when I attend a Music Circle concert at Occidental College?

We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the show. For events at Herrick Chapel, you’ll park on the Occidental College campus and walk to the front of Herrick Chapel.

This is the front of Herrick Chapel. >>>>

There, you can check in with either your name or the QR code on your ticket. The campus is lovely and you may want to plan for a stroll before the show. The show will last approximately 2 hours with no intermission, and there is a dinner and social hour after the show.

Please see ticket pages and emails for details on locations other than Occidental College.

Are there assigned seats?

No, there are not assigned seats within the Chapel.

There are 3 places to sit:

  • The pews to the right, left, and facing the stage.

  • There is an area directly in front of the stage where you can
remove your shoes and sit on the floor. We have some cushions
available but feel free to bring your own! This section is closest
    to the artists.

  • Upper mezzanine loft. Many enjoy this seating section for
its acoustics and view of the stage.

What about accessibility for people with limited mobility?

Herrick Chapel is a historically significant building and therefore is somewhat outdated in terms of accessibility. For example, one must walk downstairs or around the outside of the building to get to the bathrooms on the lower level, which are relatively small stalls. We apologize for this inconvenience, please let a staff member know if you need assistance. We recommend the handicapped parking behind the library for the easiest accessibility to the Chapel.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Yes! Tickets are available at the door for all concerts. We only accept payment via credit/debit card at the door.

I can’t attend- can I get a refund or reschedule for a future date?

We do not offer refunds or reschedules. However, if you’d like to consider your ticket purchase a donation, you can use your receipt for tax deductions.
